Galfan is hot-dip galvanized steel with a two-sided coating composed of zinc-aluminum alloy. It generally consists of 95% zinc and 5% aluminum in a solid solution with improved corrosion resistance and formability compared to zinc (galvanise) alone.
Further more the Urban Kubez™ gabion range is formulated with an even heavier ratio being 90% Zinc and 10% Aluminium providing the best possible corrosion resistance for gabions on the market.
How about corrosion resistance?
Galfan improves corrosion resistance by at least 50% over traditional galvanisation.
Galfan can be used to replace heavy galvanised coating and post-galvanising treatments and also provides better weldability, drawability and corrosion resistance.
Thus, it reduces costs, simplifies secondary processes and eliminates the need for post-treatment.
